Nearly 40 high school science teachers participated in the Partners in Science Regional Conference last week. This unique program pairs high school science teachers with a mentor doing cutting-edge research in an academic lab or a lab associated with another nonprofit institution over the course of two summers.

At this conference, first and second year Partners from throughout the Pacific Northwest gathered for two days of professional development and discussed how to effectively communicate their summer research.

They also participated in lab exercises led by our coaching team, like the one seen above where they had to work in small groups to safely transfer "toxic” popcorn kernels using string and plastic containers.
