As the leaves turn and the air develops a familiar autumn chill, change is in the air all over the Pacific Northwest. This fall, we’re enjoying our own season of change at the Murdock Trust as we welcome several new faces to our team.
Amy Winegardner, Events and Hospitality Coordinator #
Amy helps lead all internal and external events for the Trust, including scheduling, logistics and hospitality. As many of you know, Amy is far from a new face around the Trust. She has more than sixteen years’ experience in event planning and coordinating in the private sector, including seven years as manager to one of our preferred caterers for seven years where she helped coordinate large events for the Trust, such as Founder’s Day. She enjoys volunteering at her children’s school whenever possible, spending time with her family, and hosting family gatherings.
Brett Martin, Oregon Fellow #
Brett is a recent graduate of Friends University in Wichita, Kansas where he earned a dual B.S. in Accounting and Finance. He was brought to the Trust through the Oregon Leadership Development Institute as 2019-2020 Portland Fellow where he will help support a variety of projects, including Murdock business and financial programs, convenings and events. Brett is excited to gain more knowledge about the nonprofit sector and explore new areas of interest within the Trust. In his free time Brett enjoys running, reading, and spending time with friends and family.
Sarah Ruckle, Oregon Fellow #
Sarah is a recent graduate of the University of Virginia, where she earned a B.A. in Religious Studies and a B.S. in Youth and Social Innovation. While at UVA, she researched intergenerational trauma, child development, and youth empowerment within Native American communities. Sarah came to the Pacific Northwest through the Oregon Leadership and Development Institute as a 2019-2020 Portland Fellow. She is excited to serve the Murdock Trust as a Fellow this year, and to further her passions for supporting youth and developing communities through the lens of social entrepreneurship and philanthropy.
Please join us in extending a warm welcome to Amy, Brett and Sarah!
